Becoming a CPA affiliate, or cost-per-action affiliate, is really not much different than becoming an affiliate for any other program. However, there are a few differences that you should consider before making the choice. Ideally, you will be able to add and integrate products from CPA affiliate programs with your current affiliate marketing strategy.

One of the major advantages of becoming a CPA affiliate is that it pays very well and with much less effort than regular affiliate programs. With most regular programs, you are paid when you make a sale, but with CPA programs, you are paid when the potential customer completes an action.

In some cases, this action may be as simple as someone entering a zip code or email address. In other instances, you may get paid when someone orders a free trial of a product. Many of the health and beauty companies pay anywhere from $30 to $50 for completion of trial offers. And it is often much simpler to get someone to agree to a free trial product than it is to get them to pay $97 for the latest eBook on the market. This is the reason many people decide to try their hand at CPA affiliate marketing.

You should understand that companies who promote their products via CPA companies are very selective about who is selling their product. Therefore, you will need to provide the company that you are interested in becoming a CPA affiliate for with lots of details, including your website and marketing plan for the various products. Plus, you will often need to speak with a representative over the phone before you are accepted. This may seem a bit tedious in the beginning, but your diligence and efforts will be handsomely rewarded.

One of the downsides of choosing to become a CPA affiliate is that the offers are constantly changing. An offer that you are promoting today may no longer be available on tomorrow. This is the reason that some affiliate marketers shy away from CPA offers. However, if you design your landing pages properly, often one product can be easily substituted for another.

Let’s consider the Acai weight loss products for a moment. There is almost always some type of Acai or other weight loss offer running through these companies. Simply exchange the expired offer with a current offer. Keeping in touch with your CPA representative will help you stay up-to-date with the various promotions.

There is lots of potential for profit as a CPA affiliate, but it takes work just like other forms of affiliate marketing. If you are looking to expand your income or just seeking some diversity, then becoming a CPA affiliate may definitely be worth considering.

Now, on a daily basis, I run across various different promotions in the Internet marketing world.  And lately, I’m beginning to wonder what happened to ‘real value’ in Internet marketing.  It just seems like everyone is promoting the latest fly-by-night ‘get rich quick’ scheme.  There is just little value in any of it.  In the interest of fairness though, I do still occasionally run across a few gems.

Don’t get it twisted – I am all for promoting your products and making a profit, but PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE try to provide some valuable information in the process.  I would love to stay subscribed to your Internet marketing list, but not if I have to endure 5000 emails a day.  I will hit the unsubscribe so fast that it isn’t even funny.  And if you do not believe in the product you are promoting, don’t try to shove it down my throat just to make a profit.

Also, please have the decency to craft at least a semi-plausible review instead of using the same canned emails that everyone else is sending out.  Preferably, I would like to see something based on your own personal experience, but in many cases, scores of actual user reviews can be found online.  Make use of them to help craft your own.  Give me some darn value and STOP just being lazy!  I’m tired of it.

I know that providing real value in your Internet marketing business is sometimes time consuming, but try it – it actually pays off in the end.  If you are going to give me a free report, try to include some tips I can actually use in my business, not just the same old rehashed crap that everyone else is spewing.  That way, I will be looking forward to your emails and what you have to say.  There is much to be said about originality.

Okay, enough with this rant.  I just had to get it off my chest.  I would love to know what you think about providing ‘real value’ in your Internet marketing business.  So leave a comment if you can spare a minute…

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 5
By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire”

The word “overhead” is not a favorite among those who run businesses of any kind.  Nobody likes the expenses of
operating a business.  And nobody really talks about them much when it comes to promoting all of the “money-making” products and services online.

But, don’t kid yourself, there’s a lot of overhead.

That brings me to the fifth reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need a big budget to make it work **

Do you have any idea how much money is spent running an internet business? There are monthly fees for…

* Autoresponders
* Hosting
* Management
* Advertising
* Scripts
* Much more

There are regular fees for… Read more… »

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 4

I’m sure by now you are well aware that there are those who have reported HUGE amounts of money being made with their online businesses.  What you may not be aware of is the amount of work involved in generating those “sales” (not
always net profit, mind you … this isn’t “spendable” income in a lot of cases.)

That brings me to the fourth reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need to manage an entire business **

While it can be quite lucrative, running an entire business with employees, inventory, partners, vendors, and other
associates can be a time-sucking, frustrating ordeal.

Imagine…

* Processing refunds
* Putting out fires when partners SPAM
* Managing day-to-day operations
* Overseeing projects you’ve outsourced
* Recruting new affiliates
* Training everyone to help you
* Paying taxes
* Taking care of the paper trail
* Doing all of the “stuff” that business owners do. Read more… »

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 3

Some people have the ability to persuade others and talk them into just about anything.  Especially when it comes to influencing their buying decisions.  They know how to push the right hot buttons, say things the right way and generally get consumers into an emotional frenzy to the point they are ready to click an order button.

There are two key words in that paragraph that really need to stand out in your mind:  “some people”.

Not everyone has this ability.  In fact, only a few do.

That brings me to the third reason why I love affiliate marketing…

Pop quiz time.  What does “HTML” stand for?  Don’t know that one?  How about this – what does “FTP” stand for?  OK, one more chance.  Do you know how to work with either?

That brings me to the second reason why I love affiliate marketing…

** You don’t need to build a website **

What scares people more than creating a product is building a website!

* What in the world is HTML?  Or FTP?
* How much does the software cost?  And hosting?
* How do I upload files?
* Why isn’t it formatted correctly?
* Why don’t my graphics look like the ones the pros have? Read more… »

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing – Part 1

Do you find yourself “starting” to create your own product to sell online, but never “finishing” it?

One of the things I love about affiliate marketing is –

** You don’t need to create your own products **

Many people find the idea of creating their own products to be an overwhelming and even paralyzing task.

* I don’t have any good ideas!
* I’m not a writer!
* There’s too much competition!
* I don’t know how to set everything up!
* I can’t figure out where to start!
* It’s too hard!

These are just a few of the valid reasons many people give when it comes to not creating their own products to sell. I’m sure with a few minutes of brainstorming, we could come up with a list of many more. Read more… »

If you were to tell an a brick and mortar advertising agency that you were only going to pay them when you made a sale or when you acquired new leads for your business, you would probably be laughed right out of the building. However, the very same scenario is strangely appealing to the work at home affiliate.  On the Internet, businesses make huge profits with little overhead with the help of the work at home affiliate; and it is a mutually beneficial relationship.  Perhaps, you have even considered how to make money with affiliate marketing, whether for extra income or for the extra time you would be able to spend with family and friends.

Affiliate marketing is an extremely attractive option for the aspiring work at home entrepreneur for a number of reasons.  However, a few of the top ones include: Read more… »

If you want to be successful online, there is a strong possibility that you have asked yourself, “How do I get traffic to my website?”  Well, there are numerous ways to increase traffic to your website and one way is not really better than any other.  It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Do you want to spend money or do you only want to use free traffic generating methods?  The best results will probably be accomplished by using a combination of different methods that work well for you.  Since this is a rather involved discussion, it will take place over a series of posts.  And hopefully, by the end of this post series, you should have an answer to your question, “How do I get traffic to my website?” Read more… »

Happy 2009 Everyone!

Since I was a kid, I have always found it fascinating that people make resolutions for the new year, but it never really quite made sense to me.  I even toyed with making my own resolutions for a while.  But I used to wonder why they just did not assess their lives and readjust on a more frequent basis.  If it is not working for you, then why continue to pursue it?

So as usual, there are no resolutions for me.  I continue to make goals for both myself and my business and plans to implement them.  That is what works for me – following through with the plans to reach my online business goals and adjust where necessary.

I think that our lives could benefit from this same concept.  If it is not working for you, then why continue to pursue it until you are in a position where you do not want to be?  It is much easier to pay attention to what is working and what is not working and make adjustments accordingly.

But this is often easier said than done, so at times, a little outside help may be necessary.  If you are having trouble figuring it out, then ask someone for help.  Sometimes, you are just a little too close to the situation to make a fair assessment.  I have found the help of my family, friends, and business associates invaluable at times.

Think about this.  You deserve to succeed, whether it is in your online business or in your personal life.  Sometimes, we get so busy that we cannot see 3 feet in front of us.  So take a moment to slow down, take a few deep breathes, and relax if you need to.  I promise you, it will all be there when you get back.  And once you take that little break, it is easier to look at things from a new perspective.

This year, 2009, make an effort to REALLY see what is important.  We are living in times where obtaining some type of peace and stability often seems like a pipe dream.  So it is essential to know what is important.  What REALLY counts in your life?  What would you REALLY miss if it was gone and you could not get it back?  Think about it – your honest answers might surprise you.
